Leah’s story

“I once was lost, but now I’m found, was blind but now I see.”

There have been times in my life when I felt lost. I have learned to surround myself by and connect with women within my community who are building and helping people, on the basis of shared interests.

Faith, prayer, trusting the process and the love of friends and family have inspired me to create this digital space.

I began this journey with a desire to provide a therapeutic outlet for others, not fully understanding how my own transparency and vulnerability might give another individual perspective and hope. There are times in our lives when we go through the motions, minute by minute, hour after hour, day by day, week to week and before you know it, we have moved into a repetitive or default mode, a blasé’ cycle that we do not realize we have adapted to and that we are accepting as all there is or can be.

Throughout the process of working toward my vision coming into fruition, I have learned and continue to learn that no individual situation, moment in time or actions of others, defines me, my abilities, strength, value or self-worth, my past, my present or my future. Life is a process and each interaction in this life is an opportunity to make an informed decision that fosters happiness, humility and compassion for others, and that begins within oneself.

To my daughters, Aliyah and Alexis
Do not ever judge your self-worth by the amount of pain you can endure.

To my son, Lonnie Battle III
Respect and honor yourself enough to be able to look in the mirror each each day and have no regrets.

To my husband, Lonnie Battle
Thank you for challenging and encouraging me. Thank you for believing in the value of my vision. Thank you for your patience, support and love. #TeamBattle
